10X Your Speaking Business – How Are You Using Social Media?

One of the big mistakes I see speakers making today is that they don’t understand or they misuse the power of social media in growing their business.

Most of them are not using it at all for their businesses. They are silent. Silent = invisible.
You’d think that they would recognize that the biggest conversations are taking place in these forums now and to remain silent is to stay invisible. That is the worst you can be. At least doing things wrong or only part way well is not invisible. Even when you do things wrong there may be those who agree with you.

But what I wonder is why there aren’t more people using social media to position themselves as experts. Why aren’t those who are supposed to be teachers using these platforms to share more about what they do and how they can help?

Anyways, that is my challenge to you. Get out there and add value. Let people experience who you are. If you are a speaker, trainer or coach become more visible and let people experience who you are and what you do. You’re not afraid are you? Maybe that’s the problem. Those who think they can’t add to the conversation or are afraid to have their lessons scrutinized remain silent. If you really believe in what you do I challenge you to step up and start sharing it.
